Leaving the Old Life for the New Life
Back in February I stopped by Wildwood Park and found the park was under construction and snow blanketed everything. This image far different from the first time I saw it cover with flowers and bright green grass in the springtime. Yet this photograph is a reminder us how we die in our sins at one time, but God has reached out to us to change us.
God worked in us a new work in creation by helping us to be transformed. As Paul writes, “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith…” (Ephesians 2:7 NIV). God has given us salvation and loves us so much. God considers us to be his handiwork, and we can do good works through the love of Jesus. Our desires and ways before knowing God have been completely changed! Praise God, who is has made us alive in Christ!
Let us pray.
Gracious God, thank you for your love for us. We are so thankful for your care for each of us. Help us put away the old ways of living and seek out living as Jesus desires us to do. We pray this in your Holy Name, One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
