Conversations and Growing in Faith
This past Sunday, the Youth lead worship for us at Bridgewater United Methodist Church. It was amazing to see how our boys and girls, young women and men led us in worship.
It was significant to hear the testimonies of our High School Seniors. They shared about how much they have grown over the past years. We have many opportunities to grow in life, like our Youth. I know recently I traveled to Spruce Knob. On top of the mountain, many spruces had grown over the years to over the landscape. I believe we should be like our Youth and these spruces, continuing to see how God can help us grow.
The Bible tells us many stories about God's love and the growth of faith. For
example, in Acts 10, we hear of Cornelius, a Roman army officer who believed in
God and helped the local Jewish community. An angel appeared to him to tell where he could find the Apostle Peter. Peter arrived at Cornelius and shared the Good News about Jesus. On that day, Cornelius grew in faith, and Peter also matures in his faith by recognizing God was working in the lives of all people, Gentiles, and Jews. This conversation between Cornelius and Peter helped each of them to grow in faith.
I've been encouraged by all our Youth's faith and their personal desire to grow with God in the days ahead. It was a humble reminder for me when I shared my first testimony on Youth Sunday at my home church around 15 years ago.
I am curious how God helped you to grow this past week?
Let us pray.
Could you help us to grow in faith with each day? Prepare us to find how we can serve you with all our heart and soul, and strength. We pray this in Jesus' Name. Amen.
