Children’s Education

Age-appropriate materials from David C. Cook’s Bible in Life series and Right Now Media are used for teaching Bible stories, encouraging the creativity of children, and developing friendships.

  • 4 years old – Kindergarten
  • First – Third Grade
  • Fourth – Fifth Grade
  • Middle – Senior High

Adult Education

Sunday School classes for adults have long been a vibrant and important part of church life. They are an opportunity to learn from and be challenged by each other, and to learn to know and care for each in better ways.

Sunday School classes meet 9:50 – 10:50 a.m.

On the fourth Sunday of each month, all are welcome to join in our fourth Sunday Coffee in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m. This is a time for food and fellowship with those of all ages.

Faith Bible Sunday School Class

Faith Bible class uses the Cokesbury Bible Study book which explores the books of the Bible throughout the year. Occasional special studies have included Women of the Bible, Gifts of the Spirit, and Creationism versus Evolution. We alternate teachers on a weekly basis which provides a variety of insights when coupled with class discussion.

As a class, numerous mission/outreach programs are supported, and we do a meal to raise funds for church projects. Social activities include a class picnic, a fall or spring hike, and Christmas dinner.

Support is given to class members during family, health, and/or physical issues by providing meals, assistance, and both spiritual and mental uplifting which are important in meeting the personal needs of all our class members.

Meets in the lowest level near the children’s educational wing. We welcome and look forward to any new members!

New Beginnings Sunday School Class

The New Beginnings Sunday School class is currently involved in a study called Grace. Our class focuses on real-world issues, how they relate to scripture, and how we can be influenced by God’s word, and how we live in our day-to-day lives. Our class is conducted in an open discussion format! All ages are welcome. Meets in the lowest level near the children’s educational wing.

Faith Discovery Sunday School Class

Faith Discovery does just that, we discover faith. We use text such as the Upper Room to discuss everyday situations, problems, and challenges and read scripture that provides solutions for the issue. We then provide our own experiences with the group to help deal with future situations. We show how to turn to the bible when we need help today. We’d very much like to have anyone come and join us. We’re not an age-specific class and we want to hear from you. This class meets in the prayer room on the second level.

Young Adult/College Sunday School Class

All college students and young adults are welcome to join in any of the activities and events planned by the class members as their schedules permit. The Young Adult/College Class schedule is driven by the local college schedules and the activities we plan quarterly as a class. We meet Sunday mornings from 10-10:45 a.m. using devotions that are relevant to Christian life to spark discussion and reflection. The class uses a casual format with a discussion leader. This group also plans social gatherings and visits to shut-ins and nursing homes. Class meets on the second floor around the corner from the elevator.

Fellowship Sunday School Class

The Fellowship Class is our most “life experienced” class but those with fewer life experiences are welcome. This class participates in preparing for the Fourth Sunday Coffee, hosts holiday and social events for class members, and helps those in need as the occasion arises. They meet on the second floor near the elevator. As this class has no teacher, the G.I.F.T. class joins them each Sunday for the lesson. It is a welcoming and friendly group.

Generations in Faith Together Sunday School Class

The Generations In Faith Together class is comprised of saints of every age. We learn, pray and laugh together. This is a great group of caring individuals who are very active in many mission projects. We collect items throughout the year for disaster flood buckets, gifts, for college students each month, children who are in need of basic necessities, and have done a fundraiser this year to help out a friend with medical expenses. We are always collecting items for our Open Door guests and serve them a meal one evening during our host week. We serve a VBS meal once during that week and are always looking for a way to be involved in the mission. We also have picnics, go to plays and have field trips. We will be making apple butter in the fall and look forward to a time of fellowship. This is a “no-fear” class. That means that no one is ever called on to answer a question or to read. Everything is on a volunteer basis. Varied viewpoints and open minds are welcomed. At this time we are finishing up the New Testament study, it has only taken four years! We are currently looking at a topical study. This class meets on the second floor around the corner from the elevator. We try to start at 9:45 a.m. and discuss class business and catch up with one another as we drink coffee. Then we move next door to the Fellowship Class at 10 a.m. to start our lesson.
