Worthy is the Lamb who was slain… Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever! (Revelation 5:12-13)
We at BUMC come into God’s presence with a spirit of humility, acknowledging our personal brokenness, our failings, and our context: Hurting. Divorced. Single. Married. Childless. Older. Younger. Working couples. Single parents. Youths. College students. Skeptics. Mentors. New to the area. Life-long residents. First careers. Last careers. Being born. Facing death… Real People, in need of the Real Jesus.
But because of this very Jesus, we have become an extended family in Christ. Our worship services reflect this: they are joyous and reverentially God-centered. We sing together, read Scripture together, pray together, and listen together to faithful pastoral preaching. Our music style is blended, ranging from acoustic instrumentation and percussion to strings and brass. We sing ancient hymns and contemporary praise songs.
Come engage in worship with us, and learn how God intends us to live in the grace that He offers us.
What should I wear?
It’s up to you – casual wear, dresses, suits, and ties – all are welcome at our church.
What about kids?
Worship - We invite and encourage children to attend any service. There are usually children's bulletins and activity bags located at the entrance to each service. Please speak to an usher about obtaining one of these bags and please return the bags to their original location, but feel free to keep all booklets or sheets that were used during the service.
Children's Church! During the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship service, children 3 years old through 5th grade may attend Children's Church! Children start in the worship service with their parents. Following the children’s message part of the service, they will lead as a group by a staff person to the lower level on the Children's Ministry Hallway.
Sunday School - 9:50 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for children Pre-school through 5th grade. Our curriculum program incorporates Bible stories, activities, crafts, media, and games into a full faith experience for children designed to help children develop skills to unlock the Bible message and grow their faith.
Regular Children's Sunday school classes and locations:
- Pre-school and Kindergarten – Lower Level Children's Ministry Hallway
- 1st and 2nd grade – Lower Level Children's Ministry Hallway
- 3rd thru 5th grades – Lower Level Children's Ministry Hallway
Nursery - During all worship services, our nursery is available for infants and Toddlers two years old and younger. The nursery is located on the Lower Level Children's Ministry Hallway. It is our hope that parents will experience peace of mind while attending worship services and other activities throughout the church while we watch over their children.
The Nursery workers have been vaccinated for COVID and have completed a background check.
