We welcome you, and as an act of hospitality, we offer several ways for you to participate in giving.  Please find the most comfortable way for you.

  • The Offering plate is passed during Sunday Worship Service
  • Drop off or mail a check to the church at BUMC, 219 N. Main St., Bridgewater, VA 22812
  • Online Giving
  • Our Church App at Tithely.com.  Download the app, find BUMC, and give!
  • Secure, locked communication box outside the Green St entrance in which you can leave papers for the church.

Spiritual Gifts and Volunteer Interest Survey 2026

If you would like to complete an assessment to discover your spiritual gifts, there is an assessment from Adult Bible Studies here (or at www.adultbiblestudies.com/spiritual-gifts-survey).  Paper copies are available by request.  

Ways to Serve at BUMC
Brief position descriptions of some great ways to serve your church.

Altar Arts - Provide visual arts for the sanctuary.

Audio/Visual - Helps make sure material is displayed for Sunday morning worship.

Bus Ministry - Drives our church bus to assist persons in attending Sunday worship services.

Classroom Buddy - Provide support to Sunday School teachers and students.

Communion Servers - Assist the pastor in serving communion.  (1st Sunday of each month & special services)

Funeral Meals - Prepare meals for grieving families to bring them comfort.

Greeter - Arrives 20 minutes early and greets everyone as they arrive for worship.

Parking Lot Attendant - Greet persons as they enter & operate the outside lift as needed.

Sanctuary Servers - Straighten the sanctuary after a worship service.

Sunday School Superintendent - Help Sunday School classes by keeping records, scheduling volunteers,  and arranging for supplies.

Tellers - Document church giving and deposit funds contributed to the church.
