Our Holy Week Schedule @ Bridgewater UMC

Next Sunday, April 13 - Palm Sunday

Sunday School for All Ages - 9:00 AM

Palm Sunday Worship - 10:00 AM

Join us to shout "Hosanna!" to celebrate and remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. People took palm branches from the trees and laid them on the ground to "prepare the way of the Lord" as Jesus rode by on a donkey. The Children's Choir will sing with the Sanctuary Choir & Brass.

(Final) Mark: The Fastest Gospel Bible Study - 11:15 AM - Fellowship Hall

Join Rev. Jim Tongue "immediately" after worship in the Fellowship Hall for the final installment of our Gospel of Mark Bible study.

On Palm Sunday afternoon, the celebration continues at Oakdale Park. The intention is for us to celebrate Easter together as a church with a fun Easter Egg Hunt & potluck dinner!

Easter Egg Hunt - 4:00 PM - Oakdale Park Shelter #3

Bring a basket or bag to collect your goodies! (Rain location is the Fellowship Hall.)

All-Church Potluck - 5:00 PM - Oakdale Park Shelter #3

Holy Week Soup & You - Noon - Fellowship Hall

Take time to pause and lunch with friends at Soup & You. Two kinds of soup, bread, drinks, dessert and good company. Sponsored by our Nurture Committee.

Thursday, April 17

Maundy Thursday Service - 7:00 PM - Sanctuary

Our Maundy Thursday service focuses on Jesus' last meal with his disciples and friends. We will share in hand washing (optional) and Holy Communion. Our Sanctuary Choir will provide special music with a violin solo.

Friday, April 18

Good Friday Crosswalk - Noon - begins at Bridgewater Presbyterian Church

Sponsored by Bridgewater Area Ministers (BAM)

Walk with Christians from all over Bridgewater carrying a cross through town streets and pausing to read the story from the Bible and recall Jesus' journey to the cross.

Good Friday Service - 6:00 PM - Sanctuary

Please note the 6:00 PM time. Our Good Friday service focuses on the seven last words of Jesus from the cross. A service of scripture, song, and prayer.

Holy Saturday, April 19

The world waits in silence.

Easter Resurrection Sunday - April 20

We run to the tomb to discover that Christ is risen as he said!

We run from the tomb to rejoice and tell the good news!

Sunday School for All Ages - 9:00 AM

Flowering Cross - Help make the empty cross burst with life and color. Bring fresh cut flowers for our flowering cross on the lawn!

Easter Resurrection Celebration Worship - 10:00 AM - Sanctuary

Alleluia, Christ is Risen from the dead! Alleluia, Christ is risen as he said! Praise God in the highest heaven! Our worship music will be led by Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir, Brass, Organ and Piano. Wow! "Raise your joys and triumphs high!"

Great Community Give

Wednesday, April 16th

Again this year the Children's Clothes Closet will be participating in the Great Community Give (GCG) on April 16th. Last year was our first year participating and we raised a little over $7,000, which was fantastic!! The numbers of families and children that are served at the Closet continues to increase. Any monies raised go directly to support children and families in our community and will greatly help support this vital ministry.

There are two options to give:

2) If you would prefer to write a check, checks can be made payable to Children's Clothes Closet with "Great Community Give" on the memo line and placed in the offering plate at church.
