Here is our Holy Week Schedule:
TOMORROW! Sunday, April 13 - Palm Sunday --9 AM Sunday School --10 AM Worship with Sanctuary Choir & Children's Choir & Brass --4 PM Easter Egg Hunt - **moved to Front Lawn, BUMC** --5 PM All-Church Potluck - **moved to BUMC Fellowship Hall** Please bring a dish or two to share. Everyone is invited and welcome! We decided to move the Easter Egg Hunt and potluck dinner back to church because of forecasted chilly weather. Please note the location change!
Maundy Thursday Service - Thursday, April 17 7 PM Sanctuary A service that focuses on Jesus last meal with his disciples and friends. We will share in hand washing (optional) and Holy Communion. Music by the Sanctuary Choir & Violin solo.
Good Friday Crosswalk - Friday, April 18 - Noon begins at Bridgewater Presbyterian Church (sponsored by Bridgewater Area Ministers (BAM)) Walk with Christians from all over Bridgewater carrying a cross through town streets and pausing to read and recall Jesus' journey to the cross from scripture.
Good Friday Service - Friday, April 18 6 PM Sanctuary (NOTE earlier time) A service that focuses on the seven last words of Jesus from the cross. A service of scripture, song, and prayer.
Holy Saturday - The world waits in silence
Easter Sunday - April 20 We run to the tomb to discover that Christ is risen as he said! We run from the tomb to rejoice and tell the good news! --9 AM Sunday School --10 AM Worship with Sanctuary Choir, Handbells and Brass --Flowering Cross Bring fresh cut flowers for our flowering cross on the lawn!
This Sunday is the last meeting of MARK: The Fastest Gospel - Rev. Jim Tongue will be leading the last day of our Bible Study on the Gospel of Mark starting. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall for one-half hour this Sunday 11:15 - 11:45 AM. One of Mark's favorite words is "Immediately," so the Bible Study will start "immediately after worship." Feel free to join!
A note for beyond Easter: Pastor Mary will be traveling on the Sunday after Easter, April 27th and the week following. She will be attending two conferences for clergy at The UM Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. We will have a guest speaker on April 27th. More info to come!

Thank you from the Bridgewater Interchurch Food Pantry: On behalf of the recipients and volunteers of the food pantry we thank you for your faithful, continuing and amazing support this past year. Your congregation has really made a difference through your regular and special food drives, Children's Christmas Gift Bags, and financial contributions. As needs for food assistance continue to increase in our area, your help truly makes a difference for the families in need. The Food Pantry could not provide this assistance without the support of our area's churches, businesses, civic organizations, and caring individuals. Thank you. |
Support the Children’s Clothes Closet Through the Great Community Give Again this year the Children's Clothes Closet at Mission Central will be participating in the Great Community Give (GCG) on Wednesday, April 16th. Last year was our first year participating and we raised a little over $7,000, which was fantastic!! You can give directly at the link below or checks can be made payable to the Children's Clothes Closet, with "Great Community Give" on the memo line. Checks can be put in the offering plates and will be added to the total. Toiletries for Our Community Place (OCP) Our Community Place works alongside ~200 individuals each month facing housing insecurity & poverty by providing meals & resources. Access to hygiene products is a persistent challenge for many of our community members. The United Women in Faith invites you to collect items for OCP: **shampoo & conditioner **bars of soap & body wash **razors & shaving cream **toothpaste & toothbrushes & stick floss **deodorant **lotion & chap stick **feminine hygiene products

Hi, BUMC kiddos, friends, and families!
Thank you parents and guardians for all of your participation and help with preparing our children for the choir performance for this Sunday’s Palm Sunday Service! They are AMAZING!
1.) This Sunday, April 13 Palm Sunday Service The children will be participating in the palm Procession and singing with the adult choir with songs where we can proclaim Hosanna!
2.) Also This Sunday, April 13 - Easter Egg Hunt & BUMC Community Potluck Dinner at Oakdale Park - At 4:00 PM on Palm Sunday afternoon, all children are invited to Oakdale Park (shelter # 3) for a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt! The DUMBUM Youth Group will be hiding these goodies, so we know there will be good hiding places! - At 5:00 PM, following the Easter Egg Hunt (shelter #3), all BUMC community members, friends, and family are invited to our Pre - Easter Potluck Dinner. We want a way to celebrate Easter together as a church! Please bring a basket or bag for the Easter Egg Hunt for your candy. Please bring a dish or two to share for the potluck!

- Be on the lookout for plans for our Mother's Day Service, where children will get to play an important role, including in Music!

Relay For Life of the American Cancer Society is coming up soon. Funds raised support cancer research and services for patients with cancer and their loved ones. This year's theme for our local Relay For Life is Carnival for a Cure. For more information about what Relay For Life is and how you can get involved contact Robin in the office. Have you ever been told "You have cancer" or taken care of someone who has? Then you are a survivor or caregiver and you're invited to the banquet! The speaker for the banquet is a comedian who is also a survivor. We'd love to have you there! |
