A Note from Pastor Mary

Hello Everyone -- Good Christian Friends, Rejoice!

It's an Up, Up and Away week!  This Sunday, we will share the story of the Ascension of Jesus.  The Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts both have accounts of Jesus being taken up into heaven 40 days after the Resurrection and after appearing to the disciples and other people in those 40 days.  Jesus blesses those who were there as witnesses and then the scripture says "They were constantly in the temple blessing God."  Blessings all around!

I just left the Celebration of Life worship service for Henry Graham who was inspired by God's gift of flight and by his faith to serve God in the US Air Force for many years and support his children in service to their nation through the military.  Throughout the Bible, the writers use images of birds and flying to let us know how uniquely we are created and how much God loves and cares for each of us.  Jesus says, "Look at the birds of the air, they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?.... But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."  Matthew 6:26 & 33  Henry embraced Jesus' invitation to the "off we go."  We trust that when God calls each of us to "fly away home," that Jesus will take care of us here and the life to come.   We send our love to Dorice and the whole whole whole family.

I'm glad that we could be together today to show Dorice Graham the family our love and I'm glad that we will be together on Sunday to send the blessings up to God once again!  Up, up and together blessing God!

Blessings,  Pastor Mary

Please continue to share the good news that our worship time is at 10 AM.

Keep inviting friends & neighbors to Sunday School at 9 AM & joyful meaningful worship at 10 AM.
