Please continue to share the good news that our worship time is at 10 AM.  Keep inviting friends & neighbors to Sunday School at 9 AM & joyful, meaningful worship at 10 AM! 

 

Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Thank you!  Thank you for the Children's Love Service!  I think our Worship Service last Sunday (Feb 9) exceeded expectations.  Who knows what will happen when the Holy Spirit shows up?  Children, thank you for leading us!  You all did a great job!  We received over $1200 for the Bridgewater Interchurch Food Pantry.  Let's go church!!

 

This Sunday, Feb 16 - Rev. Victor Gomez will be our guest speaker.  His sermon will be entitled "Keep Your Fork."  Victor brings a lot of ministry and leadership experience to his work.  I hope you will join us!

The Wing fellowship is thankful for the support of the congregation. We currently have 11 student that we encourage.

We have a project: we are collecting can tabs for the Ronald McDonald house. There will be a collection bin in the breezeway.

 

We will sponsor a Pop-Up Food Pantry on campus at BC on February 28 from 3-6 PM. Please consider donating bananas or mandarins. When the list is full, we will accept monetary donations towards other items. The service fraternity APO is collecting food for us this time also. Thank you for your prayers for this ministry to feed the students.

Teen Volunteers & Food Donations Needed for Feb 22nd Food Distribution

 

Activity: Meal prep and packing bag lunches for the needy at Harrisonburg Baptist Church. Let's show God's love in action!

 

Hello Everyone,

Were hosting a Food Distribution Event on Feb 22nd from 9 AM to 12 PM at Harrisonburg Baptist and need all teens to help serve!

We also need adult volunteers to donate the following food items:

Main Dish:

4 pans of pre-made lasagna (9x13 size, serves 12 each)

 

Side 1: Garlic Bread

8 loaves of French/Italian bread

2 cups garlic butter spread

 

Side 2: Garden Salad

5 large bags of salad mix

3 pints cherry tomatoes

40 individual dressing packets

 

Side 3: Fruit Cups

10 lbs. pre-cut mixed fruit

40 disposable cups with lids

 

Please reply to confirm your teen's participation or to sign up for a food donation! Contact: Dumbumyouth@gmail.com for info or to share your donation.

 

We are still in need of both youth and adult volunteers, and some of the food items; also 40 disposable cups with lids, boxes of granola bars, & other individually wrapped snack items.   • Event: Youth Sunday at Bridgewater UMC
  • Time: Sunday Worship, 10 AM
  • Details:
    • We need teens to sign up for Scripture readings and prayers.
    • Each teen will be asked to share a testimony of what God and faith have meant to them over the past year.
    • Practice writing your testimony letters in youth group meetings.

We look forward to seeing you all at these events! Lets come together to grow in faith and fellowship.

 

Bridgewater Church Youth Group Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner:


We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Shrove Pancake Fundraiser on March 4th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This event promises a delightful evening of good food, fellowship, and fun all for a great cause supporting our youth group.

 

Volunteer Opportunity for Teens:
   When: Teens, please arrive at 4:00 PM
   What: Help prepare pancakes, eggs, sausage, and sliced fruit
Event Details:
   Dinner: A delicious dinner will be served on plates, perfect for enjoying the fruits of your labor and the company of our community.
   Fundraiser: All proceeds and any donation you choose to give will go directly to supporting our youth group activities.
Your participation, whether by volunteering, dining, or donating, is greatly appreciated. Let's come together to make this event a tasty and memorable success for our youth group!

Thank you for our LOVE Service (Feb 9th) !! - Thank you so much for your participation and support of our children in the Children's Love Service! They did a BEAUTIFUL job, and Pastor Mary's sermon was just what we all needed to hear, as God's children!

March 16th Combined Sunday School - Johnna McFarland, Pastor Mary, and Joey will be planning a Holy Trinity - themed Saint Patrick's Day Inter - Generational Sunday School Class. 

 

 April - An AWESOME month!

 

 1.) Sun, April 13 Palm Sunday Service The children will be participating in the palm Procession and singing with the adult choir with songs where we can proclaim Hosanna! 

 

 2.) Also Sun, April 13 - Easter Egg Hunt & BUMC Community Potluck Dinner at Oakdale Park - At 4:00 PM on Palm Sunday afternoon, all children are invited to Oakdale Park (shelter # TBD) for a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt! The DUMBUM Youth Group will be hiding these goodies, so we know there will be good hiding places! - At 5:00 PM, following the Easter Egg Hunt (shelter #3), all BUMC community members, friends, and family are invited to our Pre - Easter Potluck Dinner. This will be such a fun way to start out our spring break for Rockingham County Public School kiddos and families, and we just want a way to celebrate Easter together. this way, families can celebrate Easter as a Church and then be free to travel and / or celebrate the actual Easter weekend in their own ways. We will invite all community members to bring a dish / food / beverage item to share! 

 

May:  Sunday, May 11: Mother's Day Service

 

- Be on the lookout for plans for our Mother's Day Service, where children will get to play an important role, including in Music!

Opening Minds through Art Program 

seeking volunteers!

Are you passionate about art and eager to make a meaningful connection with others? Bridgewater Retirement Community is seeking volunteers to join our Opening Minds through Art (OMA) program, an innovative, evidence-based art-making initiative designed for individuals living with dementia. OMA offers a unique opportunity for creative self-expression and social engagement for people with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia, all in a supportive, failure-free environment.

Bridgewater Retirement Community will be hosting an OMA volunteer training on Wednesday, February 19th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the BRC Houff Community Center (Alexander Mack A Room).
